Hi and welcome!
Let me tell you a bit about my background. I have been a psychologist for over 15 years and have worked in various outpatient settings with a variety of people.
I graduated with my doctoral degree in counseling psychology in 2004 from University at Buffalo. I completed my postdoctoral training at University of Rochester Medical Center, specializing in community mental health.
For the first 5 years of my career, I worked for state agencies and specialized in forensic (criminal) psychology. In 2010, I decided to return to working in the treatment side of psychology with people in the community. I established a thriving private practice in Rochester, NY where I worked with people suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety and relationship issues.
In 2015, I began to work for the Veterans Administration (VA) hospital where I specialized in treating trauma/PTSD. A year later I transferred to a VA hospital in NC, where I continue to work with veterans with trauma/PTSD. And now, I am returning to work for those in the community through this practice.
Over the years, the feedback I have gotten from those I’ve worked with include comments such as:
~They feel comfortable with me right away.
~They know I care about them and genuinely want to help them and see them do well.
~I am down to Earth and easy to talk to.
~They look forward to sessions and can tell they are changing and seeing differences in themselves, their relationships, and the choices they make.
